This is a super-easy way to make some high-fiber and high-protein snacks very cheaply.
- 1/2 C dried garbanzo beans (or as much or little as you want, but 1/2 cup is a good amount for a small frying pan).
- salt
- optional: paprika and/or garlic powder and/or chili flakes
- peanut oil, soybean oil, or canola oil
1. In a cup or a bowl, soak the garbanzo beans in water for 30 minutes.
2. Dump the water and remove any extra water from the surface of the beans (use a colander or paper towel).
3. Pour the garbanzo beans and salt into a frying pan. Add enough water to cover the beans.
4. High heat until all the water evaporates, then lower the heat to low.
5. Add a tablespoon of oil to the beans and keep on low heat for another five minutes.
6. (Optional) Season the garbanzo beans with paprika, garlic powder, and/or chili flakes as you desire.
It can be addictive!
